Stringy Stonecrop (Sedum sarmentosum) also known as: Gold Moss and Graveyard Moss Division - Magnoliaphyta Class - Magnoliopsida Subclass - Rosidae Order - Rosales Family - Crassulacaceae Genus - Sedum True to its name, this stonecrop likes to grow on stone walls and outcroppings. It also tends to invade lawns. It is often planted as a groundcover and easily escapes out of control. Like other sedums, it often propagates by pieces breaking off and re-rooting elsewhere. It is no doubt the weediest of sedums. These last three pictures are of an infestation I found on an abandoned pier on the Delaware waterfront.
