English Oak (Quercus robur) Division - Magnoliaphyta Class - Magnoliopsida Subclass - Hamamelididae Order - Fagales Family - Fagaceae Genus - Quercus The English oak was introduced to America, from Britain, of course. It is a very nice tree, sturdy and slow-growing. It does, however, send off lots of its long acorns. Given a chance, these sprout and do their thing. As seedlings, however, they are somewhat fragile and do not take abuse very well. Taxonomic List List by Scientific Name Text Only List by Scientific Name |
